Community Listening SessionCommunity Listening Sessions
Many community members expressed a desire to participate in discussions with Owatonna Public Schools to offer feedback and ideas after the failed high school referendum on May 14.  The first community listening session was held on June 3, 2019 at Owatonna Middle School.  Two more listening sessions were held on June 25 at the library and Owatonna Middle School.  You may click the links below for notes from the listening sessions. In July, a phone survey will be conducted within our community to gather more feedback about the high school and failed referendum.  The school board will review the results of the survey at the Tuesday, July 23 special school board work session. This event will be facilitated by Bukata Hayes with Greater Mankato Diversity Council and Owatonna community leaders. The event is being sponsored by Owatonna Forward, United Way of Steele County, Owatonna Human Rights Commission and the Owatonna Public School District
